Insert the Signal module into your canAnalyser configuration and
start it. First load the database on which the interpretation is to be based.
Open the Bus Properties index card of the Controller Properties dialog
and click on the
symbol. In the file open dialog, select the downloaded file "SampleDB.xml" or
your own created project database.
The program window of the Signal module is divided in two: In the top half the
received messages are displayed either in the Scroll or Overwrite mode. The
bottom half shows the structure of the database on which the interpretation is
based. Only signals whose checkbox is activated are also displayed in the
Scroll-view.
After loading the database, its structure should now be visible here. Start the
Signal module either
|
by selecting the menu point Functions | Start or |
|
by clicking on the button
in the toolbar. |
A command sequence is also already prepared for the demonstration of the Signal
module. Open the file "Signal.prf" in the Sequencer module, start the
processing of the script and switch to the program window of the Signal module.
As in the Receive module, the signals contained in a CAN-message can be
displayed with the Signal module either in the scroll mode or in the overwrite
mode. In the scroll mode, the data contained in a received CAN-message are
displayed in a list in sequence according to their time of receipt. In the
overwrite mode, on the other hand, the data are displayed sorted according to
certain characteristics and continually overwritten with the current arriving
values. In both modes the Signal module displays the message objects,
multiplexer and signals of the database used and the current arriving values.
In the overwirte mode the messages to be displayed have to be selceted first. By
double clicking on a signal from the bottom of the window or by selecting a
signal and selecting the
symbol from the toolbar the signal is added to the overwrite view.
In the overwrite mode it is possible to highlight changes of signal values. It
can be activated or deactivated by selecting the menu item Options | Value
change detection. If the value of a signal changes, its background is
shown in the color, selected in Options | Change detection color.... The
reference value for the value change detection is the value of the first
reception of a message or the value of the last reset. To reset the value
change detection select the menu item Functions | Reset change detection
or use the context menu.
If in the database a cycletime is defined for a message, it can be controlled in
the overwrite mode of the signal module. It is activated or deactivated by
selecting the menu item Options | Timeout detection. The timeout
detection can be set back by selecting the menu item Function | Reset timeout
detectin or over the context menu. A timout is indicated by the symbol
in the State column.
